  • Learn robotics knowledge

  • Deeply understand and follow the Engineering Design Process, which is a lifetime benefit skill.

  • Improve hands-on, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking abilities.

  • Through teamwork to improve students’ leadership and communication skills.

  • Gain practical skills in robot design, building, and programming.

  • Collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity are emphasized.

TEAMS
  • Middle School Team

    • 7th Grader - 9th Grader​, good to start to learn and get good results

  • High School Team

    • 9th Grader - 12th Grader, high skills and very competitive 

PREREQUISITES
  • To join the Vinci Robotics Competition teams (R711) - students must complete the R701 and R702 courses or have very strong knowledge of robotics competition or knowledge.

TEAM ARRANGEMENT & TIME COMMITMENT
  • 5 - 8 students per team

  • Team member roles & responsibilities (see the picture below)

  • Minimum 6 hours per week - usually 3 hours during the workday and 3 hours on the weekends.

Dates:

  • September - June

Time:

  • Burlington: Friday 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM & Saturday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

  • Newton: Thursday 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM & Sunday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

  • Total over 250 lecture & workshop hours for the 10-month competition season.

  • An additional 100 workshop hours will be provided based on the teams' progress.

  • Newton Classroom

Grades:

  • Middle School Team - Grade 7+

  • High School Team - Grade 9+

Prerequisite:

  • Complete R701 V5 Competition I and R702 V5 Competition II, or have strong previous Robotics Competition Experience

​​Please note that our total sessions include the holidays listed below. No classes will be held on these holidays.

Holiday Schedule:

  • Thanksgiving, Week 48

  • Christmas, Week 52

  • Easter, Week 16

  • New Year's Day, Week 1

  • Chinese New Year, Week 5

 

Massachusetts Public School February and April Breaks:

  • February Break: 2025, Week 8

  • April Break: 2025, Week 17
