The day before VEX Worlds — what they really felt?

Before heading to the VEX World Championship, we did a simple round of interviews. What the students said was surprisingly consistent 👇

Some said: “excited, looking forward to it, a little nervous since it’s my first time.”But underneath that, there was something more steady — a quiet confidence that they were ready.

When asked about the most important factor to win matches, no one mentioned luck.Instead, the answers kept coming back to: teamwork, communication, strategy, and consistency.

When talking about their robot’s strongest feature, the responses were just as aligned: scoring ability, speed, stability, and the structure they had built step by step themselves.

Before stepping onto the field, what they wanted to tell themselves was simple 👇“Stay calm.”“Be confident.”“Enjoy the game.”

And some said it even more lightly:“Winning isn’t everything — we’re already at Worlds.”

Finally, when it came to goals, the answers were just as straightforward:win, do their best, go as far as possible, and enjoy the experience.

In the end, what they said didn’t feel like slogans —but a grounded mindset of actually showing up and competing.
