Program Description

Course Details: • Name: Presidential AI Challenge • Date: September 14, 2026 – January 24, 2027 • Time: Thursdays, 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM • Location: Newton Classroom • Grades: G4+ • Prerequisite: None A personalized, project-based course designed to help students prepare for the U.S. Presidential AI Challenge. Students develop an original AI-powered solution to a meaningful real-world problem and work through the complete project development process, including research, solution design, prototyping, development, testing, refinement, and final presentation. Projects may incorporate text, image, multimodal, agent-based, or other AI technologies based on the student’s idea and technical needs. Instruction is customized to each student or team based on their experience, project concept, competition goals, timeline, and technical requirements. Students may begin with a half-an-hour $50 one-on-one trial session with the instructor. During this session, the student and parent can discuss the student’s interests, AI experience, competition goals, possible project ideas, and recommended preparation plan. The instructor will also introduce the competition, evaluate the scope and technical needs of the proposed project, and discuss a personalized learning and project development plan for the student or team. Students will also develop skills in AI application, research, project planning, problem-solving, teamwork, technical decision-making, documentation, presentation, and preparing a final competition submission.
