Program Description

Course Details: • Name: Congressional App Challenge • Date: September 14, 2026 – January 24, 2027 • Time: Thursdays, 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM • Location: Newton Classroom • Grades: G6+ A project-based course designed to help students prepare for the Congressional App Challenge. Students identify a meaningful problem, develop an original app concept, and work through the complete development process from planning and prototyping to coding, testing, and presentation. Instruction is customized to each student or team based on their experience, project idea, and technical needs. Students may begin with a half-an-hour $50 one-on-one trial session with the instructor. During this session, the student and parent can discuss the student's interests, experience, competition goals, possible project ideas, and recommended preparation plan. The instructor will also introduce the competition and explain how the full program can support the student or team. After registration, our team will contact you to schedule a convenient time for the one-on-one trial session. The date and time shown on the website are for registration purposes only. Students will also develop project management, teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
