Course Details: • Name: V5 Early Launch • Date: June 8, 2026 – August 16, 2026 • Time: Thursdays, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM; Sundays, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM • Location: Newton Classroom • Grades: G7+ • Prerequisite: R702 VEX V5 Early Launch: Competition Intensive This intensive program is designed for students ready to jumpstart their competitive edge for the upcoming season. The curriculum focuses on advanced engineering, strategic programming, and rigorous testing to prepare teams specifically for the VEX V5 Signature Event in August. Course Overview Duration: May 18, 2026 – August 16, 2026. Pre-Summer Schedule (May 18 – June 30): The lab is open during regular hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Summer Intensive Schedule (Starting July): The lab will transition to an "Every Other Week" model, remaining open daily during those active weeks from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Learning Outcomes: Learning Outcomes By the end of this intensive season, students will be able to: • Advanced Mechanical Design: Engineer a competition-ready robot capable of meeting the specific scoring and climbing requirements of the new season’s game. • Autonomous Programming: Develop and troubleshoot complex sensor-based code to maximize scoring during the critical autonomous period. • Strategic Game Analysis: Analyze field layouts and opponent behavior to create effective match strategies and scouting reports. • Iterative Prototyping: Apply the engineering design process to refine robot subsystems (intakes, launchers, and drivetrains) based on performance data. • Competition Readiness: Demonstrate mastery of driver-controlled precision and team communication under the pressure of a high-stakes Signature Event.
