Course Details: • Name: VEX V5 New Season Strategy Bootcamp (Online) • Date: August 10, 2026 – August 20, 2026 • Time: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays, 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM • Location: Online Classroom • Grades: G7+ • Prerequisite: None Over 8 consecutive evenings (16 hours, 8–10 PM ET), students will quickly master the new VEX season game, build a robot concept strategy, plan autonomous paths, learn AI vision principles, and develop a complete match strategy — all without needing a physical robot. Designed for students outside the Boston area, in different time zones, or who want to build a strong strategic foundation before joining the in-person program. Classes run via Zoom with live Miro/FigJam collaboration. Every student completes 6 portfolio deliverables and a live Mini Presentation on the final session. Learning Outcomes: • Analyze the new season game manual and build a scoring priority framework • Apply the Effort-Value matrix to identify the most strategic tasks • Evaluate robot mechanism options and create a subsystem concept sketch • Plan an Autonomous path with time budgeting and scoring prioritization • Understand AprilTag and AI vision principles and their real-world applications • Develop a three-layer Match Strategy Sheet (Driver / Autonomous / Alliance) • Maintain an Engineering Notebook template throughout all 8 sessions • Deliver a live Mini Presentation on Session 8 Agenda: • Session 1: Game Rules & Scoring System • Session 2: Scoring Priority & Strategic Map • Session 3: Robot Mechanism Analysis • Session 4: Robot Subsystem Concept Design • Session 5: Autonomous Path Planning • Session 6: AI Vision & AprilTag Navigation • Session 7: Match Strategy & Team Roles • Session 8: Engineering Notebook + Mini Presentation
